Driveway & Patio Silver Spring
Driveways and patios are often built using the same techniques and building materials that masons are accustomed to using, such as brick, stone, and concrete bricks. We recommend using these materials because they’re highly durable against outdoor weather and temperature changes but can also provide long-lasting results when it comes to appearance and strength. Driveway and patio Silver Spring masonry practices achieve similar results to standard walls and structural buildings, but do so by adding safety and security into the ground beneath the rest of your structures.
Driveways Driveways are an important feature in your home because they connect your outdoor space to your garage, your front porch, and any side or back entrances as well. They’re also the place where most store their vehicles when not in use, so you’ll want something strong and durable that won’t succumb to cracks, damages, or stains as easily. Concrete is often a popular driveway material because it is easy to install and great underneath car tires. However, if you’re planning on installing concrete, we recommend doing so in the form of concrete bricks or pavers. Pavers are similar to standard bricks but made entirely from concrete. Installing concrete bricks instead of slabs or solid concrete provides easy maintenance in the future if damages or stains do eventually occur. Patios Patios are built in connection to your outdoor space. When you open up your backdoor, you want easy access to your patio as well, usually directly outside of the exit. The patio can be created with any kind of building material that you see fit, whether it be brick that leads into the outdoor kitchen, or natural stone that provides a lounge around for your patio furniture. Patios can also connect to garden pathways, walkways, or decks next to your pool. We can help create steps, ledges, and edges with the materials as well, so the transition between the home and the landscape is as natural as possible. Stairs Stairs, as mentioned previously, can also be integrated into the outdoor space and connect to any driveway or patio structure. The stairs are often made of the same material as the driveway or patio, but we can also build them using different materials that match the home. For example, if you have a red brick home and concrete bricks layering your driveway with a side door entrance connected to the house, you can choose between having matching concrete bricks to your driveway or red bricks that match your home’s exterior. It’s really up to you! Pathways and Walkways Pathways and walkways are connecting units that link your driveway or patio to the entrances and exits of your actual home. To ensure safe mobility between the spaces, you’ll want to opt for a building material that can hold substantial foot traffic and looks great with your landscaping as well, since any pathway or walkway will be adjacent to or integrated into the lawn. Pathways and walkways don’t require as much cleared space as a driveway or patio but still require the same standard of safety, which we help provide during installation. |
